What are some best practices for Case Closure Accuracy?
1. Continue to provide follow-up activities during a period of interruption. Follow up activities must be conducted in intervals of no more than 90 days. The case manager must document the follow up activities in a case note.
2. Monitor the Veteran’s participation in employment services within 30 days after the Veteran is declared job ready, and at least monthly until the Veteran is declared rehabilitated. 3. Remember to provide the Veteran with an adverse action letter (VR-58) once an adverse decision has been made. 4.Remember to inform the Veteran of a proposed adverse action and provided a due process period of at least 30 days to take the actions outlined in the proposed adverse action letter. There are a number of proposed adverse action letters available for use, to include Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) letters 48 and 66. 5. Remember to obtain a copy of Veteran’s diploma/certificate or a copy of his/her final transcript of records showing the degree or certificate was awarded. |
