He reports they have three small children and he cannot afford the childcare fees for all three. Prior to the procedure, his wife worked weekends and some evenings to supplement the family’s income. Unfortunately they no longer have that additional income.

A 1SG escorts a female Soldier to ACS and reports to front desk staff that she is a victim of domestic violence and her daughter, who has a special need, has also experienced child abuse. The 1SG reports the Soldier needs help securing alternative housing for herself and the child. The civilian spouse refuses to leave the home and the Soldier cannot move a child into the barracks. The 1SG also mentions that the spouse was a stay at home dad and the Soldier would now need to secure childcare. The Soldier stated she cannot afford childcare and her husband controls their finances. She reports that her spouse stayed home to provide for their child’s special needs.

She also has 2 year old and 8 month old daughters. Smith recently divorced her husband and is trying to manage the children and household on her own.

The unit is preparing for a deployment and Mrs. Jones admits to arguing with her husband over the deployment and his long work hours. They also argue over how to discipline the children and household chores.

She fears she lacks skills necessary to obtain employment since she has never worked. Mrs. Young is open gaining work experience through a volunteer position as well.
