The steps that shall be taken when an individual requires help in a Code Blue situation

Initiate lockdown, normal operations cease, priority is protecting self, clients, visitors. DO NOT GO TO LOCATION, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ENGAGE. The policy describes specific processes if you are in vicinity or away from assailant.
The first thing ALL staff do when they hear a Code Black Called.

In a Code White the receptionist will announce over the intercom the following information.

What is assess and manage the scene, confirm 911 has been called and assign responsibilities, including sending people away if lots of response.
The most qualified employee has these responsibilities.

How are Code Blacks cancelled. A code Black will never be cancelled over an intercom. No Codes during a code black should be listened to, including a fire alarm where no smoke is apparent.

.DO NOT open door. Seal all openings to prevent smoke from entering, Call 911 to give your exact location and open a window and get out if possible
