A region in the Indian territory of Kashmir, this disputed area's people have suffered at the hands of foreign tourists.

Integration
Because of globalization, this process has occurred which includes media convergence and economic interconnectedness.

Social
This dimension understands the impact of globalization on the life and work of people, on their families, and their societies.

Media
The main means of mass communication (broadcasting, publishing, and the internet) regarded collectively.

Diversity
The practice or quality of including or involving people from a range of different social and ethnic backgrounds and of different genders, sexual orientations, etc.

American Dream
The ideal that every citizen of the United States should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative

Dynamism (X3)
the quality of being characterized by vigorous activity and progress. Can be tied to economics or politics.

Economic (X2)
This dimension understands increasing international and national economies through trade in goods and services, cross-border corporate investment, and capital flows.

CANCON
This refers to that content itself, and, more generally, to cultural and creative content that is Canadian in nature.
|
Localism (X3)
A characteristic of a local region, like traditions, values or customs of that specific place.
|
UNESCO
This organization believes in the culture of peace, the eradication of poverty, sustainable development and intercultural dialogue.

Language Laws
Federally, this means we have 2 official languages. In Quebec, Bill 96 & Bill 101 outline the promotion of French first.

Environmental
This dimension understands increasing global uniformity and connectedness in the language, regulations, and practices of environmental management.

Digital Divide
This refers to the gap between demographics and regions that have access to modern information and communications technology and those who do not.

Progressive
A movement that aims to represent the interests of ordinary people through political change and the support of government actions.

NGOs (X2)
These are non-profit organizations that operate without the funding of any government. Most commonly, these organizations are in place to tackle issues that are relevant to social and political issues in various locations across the world.

UN Declaration of Indigenous Rights
This outlines that these individuals are free and equal to all other peoples, have the right to be free from any kind of discrimination, in particular that based on their origin or identity with the right of self-determination.

This dimension understands the intensification and expansion of national interrelations around the globe.

Techno-isolation
When technology is being used more than face-to-face communication.

Segregation
The action or state of setting someone or something apart from other people or things or being set apart.

These were a series of conflicts that consisted of military occupation, police action, and intervention by the USA in Central America and the Caribbean.

Refers to the symbolic meaning, artistic dimension and cultural values that originate from or express cultural identities under legal protection.
