Ask if the dog has been coughing. Offer to take the dog in the cubby room & let them run around of leash, offer them water. If the owner says they've been coughing or if they continue doing it without pressure on their through, send the dog away & let them know they need to be cleared by a vet before they can return.

NO. We are unable to take dogs with heartworms until they've finished treatment & been retested with a negative result.

If you've already called for the dog, step to the cubby room & ask them to hold off on the checkout. If they won't pay, get a manager. If they're having card issues, suggest maybe running to the atm up the street or a different card.
What should you do if an owner refuses to pay their bill or they're having card issues?

Make sure check ins are caught up, you've printed and labeled all run cards needed, go through emails & respond, you've cleaned the lobby/cubby room/restroom. Once these are completed, go through gingr notifications. If you're still bored, check the deep cleaning list at the front desk. THERE IS NO REASON TO BE ACTIVELY ON YOUR PHONE OR FOOLING AROUND ON THE COMPUTER.
What should you be doing during your down time?

What do dogs need when coming in during the holidays?
|
SEND THEM BACK WITH THE OWNER. Politely take what's needed & explain that we are unable to store the items not needed for their stay. The only thing you should take for suite dogs & things that can go in the room with them (such as toys & blankets). If the owner insists they can't take them with them, inform them of the $5/day storage fee.
What should you do if an owner brings unnecessary items? (large food containers/bags, bowls, blankets, etc)
