What is Prompting?

When a student relies on being told what to do or for the task to be done for them. It is when the child knows what to do, but depends on the prompt to be given to them.

When teaching Bill how to make a paper airplane, the teacher folded the paper in half and said, “Fold your paper in half like this, Bill.”

What is Fading?
Decreasing intensity of prompt level or removing prompt because student can complete skill with less help or independently.

When you decrease the intensity of the prompt and/or
provide less assistance by changing prompt you do this. |
What is Visual Prompting?
