You should respond to the questions they ask, and you can add something funny if it's appropriate and related to the question, but usually it is not appropriate to tell jokes during an interview.

Yes. Google them, or ask someone you know who works there. One of the interview questions will likely be "what do you know about our organization" so be prepared to answer.

Some people think you should, most of the time this is not necessary though.

Probably not. You could ask someone who works there, if you know someone, but don't call them to ask otherwise.
