Assembly Bill 1884, adopted as Public Resources Code sections 42270 and 42271, prohibits restaurants in California from providing their customers with these items, unless the customers specifically ask for them.

Senate Bill 964, adopted as Government Code sections 51036 et seq., provides that municipalities may not prohibit these people from selling food items.

Senate Bill 1164, adopted as Business and Professions Code sections 23363.1, 23502, 23504, 23771, 25173, 25503.3, 25503.5, 25503.56 and 25503.9, makes it easier for consumers to get their hands on these items.

Senate Bill 1192, which was adopted as Health and Safety Code sections 114379 et seq., requires establishments that market these items to serve water or unflavored milk as the default drink.

Assembly Bill 2914, which was adopted as Business and Professions Code sections 25621.5 and 26070.2, prohibits bars from selling these items.
