Why are the people of Lake-town angry with the Master? What does the Master do to How does the Master’s moral character contrast with Bard’s? How does the contrast between them relate to the theme of courage in the novel?
The people are unhappy with the town's Master because he ran away from the dragon instead of staying to protect his people. After his town has been destroyed, the master defends his own mandate to rule and then demands food for himself.
