He basically relies
a lot on hearing God “speaking” to him and makes decisions based on that. I argued in
class that this was not a good way to operate because he ignores the counsel of others, the
clear direction of circumstances, and other aspects of wise Christian decision making and
makes his inner voice a final authority (essentially on par with scripture). He even at one
point resorts to pointing to a passage in the Bible at random and using that to discern
God’s will.
