What is the difference between a subsidized loan and an unsubsidized loan?
The sub oan does not have interest until the student graduates, but the unsub has interest on it starting with the first disbursement and every month after.

What option does a student have to secure their schedule if their financial aid isn't enough to pay their entire bill or if their FAFSA was sent late and hasn't been reviewed yet ?

If you do not see a FERPA release on file, can you share a student's confidential information with anyone?
No, you will need to advise that person that only the student may contact us unless they sign a FERPA release

Do you have the student's FSA ID password? If not, what can they do?
No, we do not have students or parents passwords but they can go to studentaid.gov and reset it.

What is the tax year needed for the current FAFSA?
2021 taxes for student and parent

What type of loan can a parent apply for if their child needs additional federal aid?
A Parent PLUS loan

No, they are two separate requests. No FERPA, no info.

What if a parent does not have a social security number? Can they create an FSA ID?
Yes, they must be verified before they can be used starting in 24-25

Which FAFSA do I submit for next academic year and which taxes are needed?
The 2425 FAFSA and the 2022 tax information for both

Can an Independent student receive a parent PLUS loan?
No, only dependent students but independent students can apply for private loans
