What is the difference between distress tolerance and avoidance?
Distress tolerance is intended to be used as a short-term way to get through crises. If we use as our only way of coping, it becomes avoidance because distress tolerance doesn't actually solve the problem!

Ask yourself what your body is experiencing, what your body language is telling you, what your action urge is, and what the prompting event was
