What does Manifest Destiny mean?
BNA (Canada) was afraid of US expansion moving North. Canada need to be established to be able to protect its borders.
Where is Canada West today?
Ontario
What does Political Deadlock mean?
Canada East (Quebec) and Canada West (CW) had the equal amount of seats in the government, making decisions was almost impossible seeing as how both sides did not like each other. Something had to change! In 1864, George Brown agreed to work with his political rivals and thus ending the deadlock. This event was known as the GREAT COALITION.
What two provinces wanted to agreed to form a country called CANADA.
New Brunswick and Nova Scotia
What does Westward Expansion mean?
Farmland in Ontario was running out, so people wanted to move West to establish farms. The railway would help getting people WEST!
Why did New Brunswick and Nova Scotia want to become a country
Because they hoped that forming a country would keep them loyal to Britain.
