Sheep

Sheep are mentioned over 500 times in the Bible. They first appear in Genesis 4:2 where we learn Abel was a shepherd.
They also appear in Revelation 9:19, the last book of the Bible, where Aaron sacrifices a ram.

John was preaching in the wilderness of Judea. Matthew 3:4 tells us 'Now John himself was clothed in camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey.'
Leviticus 11:22 lists locusts as being 'clean' and so edible, along with crickets and grasshoppers.

They were defeated by their enemies in battle.

'And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel. So He delivered them into the hands of plunderers who despoiled them; and He sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies. Wherever they went out, the hand of the Lord was against them for calamity, as the Lord had said, and as the Lord had sworn to them. And they were greatly distressed.'

Dogs

In the Bible dogs are compared to prostitutes (Deut. 23:18 'You shall not bring the wages of a harlot or the price of a dog to the house of the Lord your God for any vowed offering, for both of these are an abomination to the Lord your God.'), greedy men (Isa 56:10 'His watchmen are blind, they are all ignorant; they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.'), and evil men (Phil 3:2 'Beware of dongs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation!') (Rev 22:15 'But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.').

Judges 15:4-5 tells us how 300 foxes aided Samson in getting revenge on the Philistines who stole his wife.
'Then Samson went and caught three hundred foxes; and he took torches, turned the foxes tail to tail, and put a torch between each pair of tails. When he had set the torches on fire, he let the foxes go into the standing grain of the Philistines, and burned up both the shocks and the standing grain, as well as the vineyards and olive groves.'
