Wal Wal was a fort located 70 kilometers inside Abyssinia.
In December 1934, there was a clash between Italian and Abyssinian troops. Due to this incident, several Italian soldiers were killed and Italy requested an apology from Abyssinia. Abyssinia appealed to the League of Nations to take care of the situation. As the League was trying to solve the conflict, Mussolini prepared for the invasion. |
